Steve's Jaguar Service

Our Team

Steve is the owner of Steve’s Jaguar Service.

Steve’s introduction to Jaguars came with the purchase of his second vehicle, a 72 E-Type, while he was still in high school.

After high school he started working for Mister Jags, a repair shop located in Reseda, California. In the years he worked there he learned a great deal about Jaguar repair.  While at Mister Jags Steve met another young mechanic, David Russomano, and struck up a friendship.

Steve founded Steve’s Jaguar in 1980, in a small shop on Canoga Avenue. As the business expanded he moved to his present location on Deering Avenue in 198?.

In addition to running the business, Steve is an “hands on” shop-owner, performing repairs, and assisting in diagnosis of vehicles.  He has performed award-winning restoration work on classic Jaguars, most notably the “Ron Avery” Jaguar E-type. Ron’s car is still winning first place at many shows in the Southern California area.

Come in and meet Steve and his team, inspect our busy repair shop, and discuss your service or restoration needs.

Brian’s interest in cars started when he bought his first car before he could drive.  His interest led to him taking a college course in Automobile Engineering at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology, in his native England.  In 1987, after 5 years of academic studies he had his City and Guilds(parts 1, 2, and 3), completed the Institute of the Motor Industry studies and examinations.  Many exams were passed with distinction, however, in 1985 his score in the City and Guilds examination was the highest in the nation leading to the award of the Silver Medal for his first place results.

Since then Brian has continued a path of self-directed education to widen his knowledge.  His studies have included; electronics and microprocessors, computer network engineering.  This broad base of knowledge has been put to use in specializing in electronic systems diagnosis in Jaguar cars.

David R.

Dave, a transplant from the East Coast, met Steve at Mister Jags where they quickly developed a friendship.  When Steve founded Steve’s Jaguar in 1980, Dave was right there, working with him.  After a couple of years Dave and Steve parted company with Dave going to work for Bill Brady at Bonnet To Boot.

After 10 years of being the lead mechanic at Bonnet To Boot Dave opened up Classic Jaguar in Winnetka, CA.  Having his own shop allowed Dave to do the restoration work on those classic Jaguars he loves so much.  During this time he completed several award winning restorations, but the interuption of regular service work meant that he could not devote the time exclusively to restoration work.  After twelve years on his own it made sense to once again join forces with Steve over at Steve’s Jaguar.  The arrangement meant that Dave could now focus on restoration work.

David C.

David started at Steve’s Jaguar at the age of seventeen, while studying Automotive Technology at Pierce College and West Valley Occupational Center.  He has become a valuable member of the team at Steve’s Jaguar since joining our team in April of 2005.
